Unable to access WebUI - Ubuntu

OS Name/Version: Ubuntu 22.04

Product Name/Version: AMP Instance Manager v2.6.0.6 (Mainline / Release)

Problem Description:

The disk was filled by autosave files after not checking for a few days. Im still logged into the VM and i was able to delete some of those files which has given me 850mb free space for now. Unfortunately before i knew of the problem i had tried to update the Soulmask instance which obviously failed leading me to try and restart AMP from the UI.

Unfortunately now when i try and start AMP the instance of ADS is gone. ampinstmgr returns “No instances to show”

Steps to reproduce:

  • Step 1 - Tried to update Soulmask (disk was full but wasnt aware)
  • Step 2 - Soulmask did stop but didnt autostart. I attempted to manually start.
  • Step 3 - Wait 15min before restart AMP from the webui.
  • Step 4 - AMP didnt start so moved to VM and noticed disk full.

Actions taken to resolve so far:

  • Step 1 - Deleted some autosave files to free up ~950mb from the Soulmask directory
  • Step 2 - ran ampinstmgr start ADS01 which resulted in No such instance matching name "ADS01"
  • Step 3 - ampinstmgr status No Instances to show

Not sure if its possible to recreate the instance as all of my game server directories obviously still exist?

Did you switch to the amp Linux user before running ampinstmgr start ADS01 ?
(sudo su -l amp)

Yes sorry i should have stated that. Im running in the “AMP” console.

The instances.json file was probably corrupted when the disk filled up.
As the amp Linux user, copy one of the old .ampdata/instances/instances.json-xxx.bak files, then rename the copy to instances.json in that same directory.
After rebooting you should see your instances again

Thanks dude, thats got the instance backup.

Not sure if this is related but Soulmask wont start, or updated. I get the message “AMP Malformed Data: Settings Manifest is invalid.”

I have tried restoring some older instances.json but have the same issue.

That’s unrelated to the instances.json, you’ll want to use the most up to date one with all your instances.
Take a run through the update guide here, with emphasis on part 4 when you get to it:
