I installed minecraft vanilla 1.21.1 next installing the server, it worked for me

On a freshly updates AMP & newly created instance I just ran the following:

  • Install Vanilla 1.21.1
  • Start Server - result server starts just fine & creates vanilla world & server
  • Stop Server
  • Change Server type to Feed The Beast (New Source)
  • Change FTB Modpack to The FTB Skies 2 (v.16.1)
  • Tap the Download / Update button and watch console as server & mods are installed
  • Change Level Name to ensure new map is generated
  • Start server
  • Result - Vanilla server start and NOT the NeoForge start & mod loading

Is there an issue/bug submitted to remove the need for this step?

When following 3. Configuring the Server you will need to change the Server Type setting to the required modloader. The server won’t start properly otherwise.

That is kind of an annoying step, especially when using FTB, and wanting up upgrade the mod pack.
