Problem Description

Issue

I have installed multiple mods and ran the Update to install them all. I then go to Start the server and the only thing that is in Console is ‘cmd’ but never updates with anything else.

Also, I have looked in every log file that I could find and there is nothing stating there is an error or issue with a mod.

UPDATE: If I remove the mod ID’s from Load Mods and delete the list from Update then click Start then I get a bit more in the Console as seen in the below screenshot.

Reproduction Steps

  • Create a new DayZ server
  • Configure it and add the list of mods to Load Mods
  • Go to Updates and add the same mod ID’s there
  • Update the game to install mods
  • Click Start

Did you follow the guide? DayZ Server Guide

Yes I did. Same issue even after that.

Could still be a configuration issue. You will have to show your mod settings to verify

That’s fine, what do you need to see and I’ll gladly post it here for you to view.

Something else, I removed the entire list of mod ID’s from Updates and then tried starting the server and I get messages in Console that is cmd followed by powershell on a new line.

The mod-related settings - Steam Workshop items, Load Mods etc

Settings for mods look fine, as far as I can tell. Have you checked that all mods are downloaded when the server is updated? No timeouts? Also check that all the symlinks are created OK in the base directory

I can confirm they are not being downloaded to the directory steamapp/workshop/content/221100 so I can positively say the symlinks are not being created. They are downloading the mods directory to the base directory where the DayZServer_x64.exe is located. I assume that is a problem?

Steamcmd does not download directly to the base directory.

Ok I was wrong, it did download them to steamapps/workshop/content/221100 don’t know what I was thinking or where I was looking but I took a second look and they are there.

Anyway, yes it downloaded all of the mods when the server updated, no timeouts either.
