Steps to reproduce:

  • Go to instance and initiate update of Satisfactory

Actions taken to resolve so far:

  1. Restart ADS
  2. Update ADS
  3. Restart server
  4. Attempt to update and the same thing happens

I have completed the following tasks:

  • Run apt update as root user
  • Run apt upgrade as root user
  • Runampinstmgr upgradeall as amp user
  • Clicked on the Update All button on the web interface
  • Started the Satisfactory instance and received the following pop up:
    • AMP was unable to start the application. Possible causes may include insufficient
      permissions to load the executable, or the file not being correctly flagged as being an
      executable file. Check AMPs logs for more information.
  • Restarted the computer and still getting the same error
  • Checked the most recent log file and received the following:

Is this instance on a non-default datastore?

No it is not, but I looked at something the log file pointed to and the execute permission wasn’t there for FactoryServer-Linux-Shipping.

Here is a screen grab of the file referenced in the logs.

Once I changed the execute bit it started right up.
