Problem Description

Issue

Unable to connect to Valheim server from steam copy of Valheim unless crossplay is enabled, and can only connect via play code once crossplay is enabled. Connecting via IP and Port does not work whether crossplay is enabled or disabled. AMP configuration and instance configuration are unchanged from defaults. I am able to connect to server instances for V Rising, Factorio and Terraria via IP and port as well as subdomains redirecting to the necessary ports. The server is externally hosted with the following specs: Operating system (OS):
Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS “Jammy Jellyfish”
CPU:
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X - 6c/12t - 3.7 GHz/4.6 GHz
RAM:
32 GB ECC 2400 MHz

Ports are listening and allowed

Reproduction Steps

  • Create Valheim Server, default instance settings and default AMP settings
  • Attempt to connect to Valheim Server via IP
  • Fail to connect to server via IP
  • Enable crossplay, connection via play code succeeds
  • Disconnect from server and attempt to connect to server via recents, fail to connect to server

@CubeCoders-Bot could you walk through this one please? User did already check port is listening plus firewall but they posted as images rather than text. Check what ampinstmgr dumpfirewall says to make sure it all matches.

Alright, let’s tackle this step by step.

First off, let’s see what ampinstmgr dumpfirewall spits out. Can you run that command in your AMP instance and post the output here as text?
