Connectivity Problem with Minecraft - Can't connect to NeoForge server

Problem Description

Issue

Getting “Can’t connect to server” message on server screen of minecraft, even though server is running. Trying to direct connect gives error: “Connection timed out: getsockopt”. This is only happening with NeoForge as far as I can tell. The server lets me connect if it is using vanilla minecraft.

Reproduction Steps

• Made server use neoforge
• update and installed neoforge in game panel
• start server
• try to connect to server in minecraft
• get error
