Problem Description

Issue

When I try to connect via the Steam link I get a “Unable to connect to server, app id specified by server is invalid” but the instance is also not showing listening on the game port.

Reproduction Steps

  • Created a new instance for Icarus
  • Let the downloads finish until server started up - never shows as listening on game port
  • Tried updating the instance incl. template - no change in behavior

Restarting the instance did not change the problem, deleting it and recreating it did lead to the same situation again. Should be easy to reproduce.

I FOUND THE FIX. change the query port from 27015 to something else, i used 47015. I had this happen in another game, and tried it here and it worked as well~
