When attempting to access the Dune Awakening server from the Dune client, both internally on my home network and externally (via hotspot), I am encountering a never ending ‘Connecting’ screen.
Reproduction Steps
Created Dune Awakening Instance (running on headless Ubuntu server on home network)
Added the Host Key from Dune
Enabled Port Forwarding for 7777-7810 and 31982 on both the server and my home router
After initial start, added in word id (found in console) as part of troubleshooting steps
Found Server listed in Dune Client, issue is experienced when trying to connect (both with and without a password set up)
The AMP container running the game must be restarted after updating and before starting the game server for the first time. The console will warn you about this.
Making sure as that is a common issue.
If so, I found this recommendation on the Dune Client:
they did say to clear browser cache in the patch notes if that happens. I just pressed F12 and then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload” but I’m using brave but I’d assume you can do the same with chrome.
If that doesn’t work, you might try refreshingupdating the Dune Template from the Main screen (not the Dune instance itself).
I am admittedly very new to all of this in general, so it’s taken a bit to pick up. I was able to resolve the issue when i found a pretty simple discrepancy on my part, turned out to be missing router port forwards for AMP’s Dune RabbitMQ services, 5673 & 15673 instead of 31982.
