After moving an instance from 1 pc to another AMP will not start

OS Name/Version: Windows 10 Home 21H2

Product Name/Version: AMP version 2.4.0.8 (Halimede)

Problem Description:

I’ve created a new instance then copied the world folder from one PC to another. Then I used the AMP configuration panel to update all the settings. Everything seemed ok until I tried to open a different instance. I got an error but I cant remember what it was. I then closed AMP but when I now try to open it it wont connect. I have treid to repair it but no luck.

Have you checked its logs? AMP will need reactivating after being moved.

Hi Mike. The last log is at 12:29. When I try to start I get

This site can’t be reached

127.0.0.1 refused to connect.

Show me the log excerpt. That’s not log output you’ve shown me there.

Ive been able to access the application management panel but I cant start an instance because I dont own it. Here is the latest log.

ADS isn’t running as a service, so it can’t start instances that were originally running as services.

Ok. But when it was running as a service I got the 127.0.0.1 refused to connect. error. How do I get it running as a service again. Apologies for not understanding this fully

Reboot the system after changing it to run as a service again. Check the logs if it fails to be accessible.

Sorry Mike. How do I change it to run as a service. I am no longer getting the screen that gives that option

You have to make sure ADS is shut down first. You can make sure AMP is fully stopped by doing ampinstmgr stopall on the command line.

Ok. AMP shut down. ADS set as a service. Now Im just getting the AMP panel but its blank. Here is the latest log

Show me the contents of the support tab in your ADS instance please?

I no longer get the AMP panel. Its now giving me the error

127.0.0.1 refused to connect.

How did you move the instance exactly? Sounds like you’ve killed your installation in the attempt.

I created a new instance.
Configured it using the panel.
Dragged the world into the instance folder
Used the server settings to scan for the new Level Name.
Started the server.
Logged in to check and all seemed fine.
Then tried to log into the other servers and got the error.
Restarted the PC and nothing.
Contacted support and started chatting to you.

I have removed ADS as a service again and Im able to access the panel once more. This is whats in the support tab

If you used Windows Explorer to move the files around then this destroys the permissions. Only use AMPs built in SFTP to move files around. Delete the instance and start again with a fresh one, using SFTP to move the files in.

I removed that instance a while ago when this first happened but the problem logging in still remains. If I install ADS as a service via the AMP instance Manager I get the 127.0.0.1 refused to connect. error. If I remove it as a service I can access the AMP but I cant start any instances. :frowning:

Once you set it to be a service you need to reboot.

Done that a few times now and it doesn’t fix it

And what does the log file say? You can find them in C:\AMPDatastore\instances\ADS01\AMP_Logs (assuming the datastore is on C:)
