Vintage Story - The entire vintage story data folder was just.... gone?

Task

I was trying to start up my server and it wouldn’t start.

Problem Description

Issue

The server has been having issues with randomly turning off and I was having many issues with ethernet that I fixed by getting dhcp working again.
It used to be on an older intel NUC.
It’s on a 5800x server now, same boot drive.

Is there anything I can provide to help troubleshoot these issues?
-Server Turning Off Randomly.
-Server just deleted the /data folder for Vintage Story.

Reproduction Steps

  • Made a manual backup of ther server when it wasn’t working, I can provide if needed
  • Checked the file browser and the entire Vintage Story /data folder was gone. This folder holds the world data, server executable, and mods.
  • Restored Older Backup and lost some progress, but I have the server back up for now

I don’t know about this problem, but I know Vintage Story just had an update. You might contact them as well to see if there is a known bug in this release.

I haven’t updated it, as it’s modded I’m just not updating it.

I’ll check their forums for something.

Once my friends are done playing I’ll be moving the hardware to windows to run stability tests(I have much more experience troubleshooting Windows over Debian.)
If that yields nothing(which I hope it doesn’t ram prices are nuts), I’ll just format the whole thing and start fresh.

BUT if anyone has a suggestion of where to look/what logs I can provide for y’all to look at, I’m more than happy to.

I’m… semi-competent lol.
