Velocity proxy instance creation fails - server is not starting

OS Name/Version: Debian 11

Product Name/Version: AMP Release “Callisto” v2.5.0.14, built 14/06/2024 03:45

Problem Description:

Good afternoon everyone,

I’m trying to create a new instance via the AMP interface, which will become my Velocity proxy. Unfortunately, I can’t do this via AMP.

As far as I have found out, there are two ways to install Velocity:

  • switch normal Minecraft server to Velocity
  • Java App runner instance

But I fail with both.

The servers simply won’t start anymore:

  • the first one indicates when switching on the AMP interface that the jar is defective “Error: Invalid or corrupt jarfile minecraft_server.jar”
  • the second one searches unsuccessfully for the following path: “This task could not be completed: Running Update Tasks - - State: 3. /bin/bash failed with exit code 128”

Steps to reproduce:

  • Step 1 create new minecraft java edition
  • Step 2 change the server type in the instance under minecraft → server and startup → server type: velocity Proxy (Runtime only)
  • Step 3 restart server → error message: “Error: Invalid or corrupt jarfile minecraft_server.jar” (this appears regardless of whether you delete all folders in the instance before switching or not)

Actions taken to resolve so far:

I tried using the Java app runner which is also offered, but that didn’t work either. For me, “runtime only” means that everything is configured when I change the server type. However, Velocity is not offered when creating an instance. In theory, it is only possible to change it afterwards.

Have you hit the download/update button so it fetches it?

hi, yes, I pressed the downloadbutton. And the little window with the progess appeared.
Why is Velocity not present in the general overview when creating the instance, but only BungeeCord?

are there any special steps to follow?
