Problem Description: Valheim could back up while running until upgrading to V2.8. Now it says that’s not supported on both my new and existing instances.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create new Valheim instance.
- Go to Schedule settings and create new trigger for Backup: Take a backup, and setting to hourly.
- Review the options listed for backup type. “Shutdown for Backup” is now forced on, claiming the game does not support backup while running. (I know it does, because I’ve been doing it for years, and it was working before I did the update…)
Actions taken to resolve so far: No action to take, as the option is forced and darkened out so I can’t change it.
(Note : I am aware of Valheims internal backups. I use a script to delete them in order to keep my external backups small, (because there is no option to disable them in AMP, which is a whole different discussion.) I do this because I take hourly backups and those are sync’d to a secondary redundant backup server in case the AMP server should ever crash. (I run multiple Valheim servers, so I use this a lot.))
