Upload 7 days to die save games

OS Name/Version:
Fedora Linux 36 (Server Edition)

Product Name/Version: (Always use the full version number - not ‘Latest’)

Amp Instance Manager v2.3.4.3

Problem Description:

I am trying to upload my original save game for 7days to die to my 7 days to die instance on AMP. I cannot seem to find this directory…

/home/amp/.local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves/

How do I get to this directory?

Steps to reproduce:

  • Step 1:

Try to find the directory listed in console during server startup to put saves in.

Actions taken to resolve so far:

SFTP into AMP. I cannot find the directory
FTP into host machine as root. I cannot find directory.
Try to SFTP into host machine as amp user but I tried the password I used for the amp webserver and that does not seem to work

File and directory names starting with a dot are hidden. Have you turned on the option to show hidden files/directories in your SFTP client?

Yes, but when I log into the machine as root /home/amp has .ampdata and .config I do not see a .local

Edit

I found it…

The full path when looking at the whole system file tree is

/home/amp/.ampdata/instances/“ServerName”/.virtualhome/.local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves

Thanks for the help

Ah the .virtualHome thing is a side-effect of using Docker.

Note that if you’re using the generic config it will soon start saving in the instance’s directory under User/Saves.
