Update Failure with Valheim - Valheim server not updating to latest version

Problem Description

Issue

When trying to update the Valheim server it seems like it’s not finding that there is an update.

Reproduction Steps

  • Select Update on Instances Page
  • Attempt to join game from updated client
  • Check console and see that server is older version than client

You need to manage the instance, stop the server if it is running, and click update there. That updates the server

Clicking update on the Instances screen only updates the instance (ie AMP)
