Problem Description

Issue

I went to create a Valheim Server and when I click Start, it downloads STEAMCMD and tries to download the other files needed, but it isn’t downloading them at all.

Reproduction Steps

  • Create Valheim Server
  • Click Start
  • Check where the files should be

Try hitting Update first, then see if you can start it

I tried that and still same issue. I see a new timestamp in the console, but it doesn’t update at all.
I’ve also restarted my hosting pc 3 times now.

Need to post logs to help troubleshoot

Can say log probably uneeded, if you do a clean install of Valehim on 2.5.0.10 its not installing any of the game files besides a Bepinex files and the doorlib files. Can toggle to update valehim+ and bepinex, that seems to function, but as for the dedicated server and steam app files, those dont seem to install on Windows atm

*Edit ya after just doing a steamcmd myself to go get the files and copy them into the valehim ID folder, game launches flawlessly now

Can you tell me where the Valheim id folder is? I’ve got the steamcmd files, but I can’t seem to find where to put them.

Should be something like:
C:\AMPDatastore\Instances\INSTANCENAME\Valheim and in that folder youll see a file thats like “896660” put the files for valheim dedicated download into there
