Problem Description
Issue
I finally got my new Minecraft instance working by backing off to 1.20.4, and when I tried to upgrade to 1.20.5, the console displayed a message saying that my Java version didn’t support the new Minecraft version. Further research told me that I need JDK 21 in order to install any Minecraft version past 1.20.4. Hostinger replies in the forums claim that updating the AMP panel to the latest version will show JDK 21 in the menu, but I did, and it doesn’t. How can I make JDK 21 available in my Minecraft server config?
Reproduction Steps
- Verified that Minecraft runs at version 1.20.4
- Attempt to update Minecraft to 1.20.5 or higher
- Check console, console says the 1.20.5 jar file isn’t supported by JDK 17
- Attempt to change Java version to JDK 21, but it isn’t listed
- Verify that AMP has been updated to 2.5.1 for all instances on my server
- Run AMP updates again, restart instance, still no JDK version above 17 showing
