Problem Description

Issue

This issue has occured with multiple games, Icarus and Palworld specifically. After some googling, I determined that it’s either a permissions issue or an issue of the program running while trying to update. I’m not sure which is the case, but I can’t seem to get the error to clear

I attempted a full reset of my Debian VM but nothing seems to work

Reproduction Steps

  • Attempt to update application to newest version
  • All files download and verification starts
  • Error 0x606 appears every time

I was having a similar problem and exact error but on windows. I allowed Palworlds and SteamCMD through my firewall and now I get no error after i start + it updates.

I don’t know that there is an equivelant to that on Debian. At least not that I could find. Linux kinda just lets everything through unless you specifyt otherwise. I can’t get any more info from my troubleshooting except “error 0x606 could have something to do with full disk space, or permissions, or firewall, or something I dunno” so I have nothing to go off of
