Problem Description

Issue

When trying to update the instance, I receive the following error:
This task could not be completed: Updating… - Updating ARK: Survival Ascended - State: 3.
Failed to request app info update, not online or not logged in to Steam.

I’ve already tried restarting everything and it doesn’t work. This problem is not letting me open the server

Reproduction Steps

  • Clicking on the “Update” button, inside the Ark Survival Ascended Instance
  • Waiting for the update
  • The error shown in the description happens

I’m seeing the same issue on ARK: Survival Evolved as well.

Manual SteamCMD works as the amp user, but AMP update fails with:
Failed to request app info update, not online or not logged in to Steam.

During AMP update, ps shows it launching:
socat EXEC:/AMP/ark-se/steamcmd.sh +runscript steamscript.dat

But /AMP does not exist on my host. Manual install succeeds when run from:
/home/amp/.ampdata/instances/ARKSurvivalEvolved01/ark-se

So this appears to be an AMP update task/path issue rather than Steam/networking.
