OS Name/Version: Windows Server 2016 (I think)

Product Name/Version: (Always use the full version number - not ‘Latest’)
AMP Release “Callisto” v2.5.1.8, built 17/09/2024 12:32

Problem Description:

Everytime I try to run the Cursed Walking modpack server, it sets the I.P. to 0.0.0.0.0 aka: the default, and because of that my friends can’t join.

Steps to reproduce:

Actions taken to resolve so far:

tried mannually changing the server properties to the I.P. and rebooting, done a fresh install, don’t know what to do.

0.0.0.0 just means “all network interfaces”, so you just give your friends the public IP and make sure things are port forwarded.

I port forwarded it and gave them the I.P. but they still can’t connect, and when I run the server outside of AMP it works fine and they can connect

You can join locally though right? What error are they getting?

I can’t join through localhost, but CAN join through LAN, which makes no sense to me. here:

So I’m able to join through LAN, but can’t through localhost. I made sure everything was port forwarded and everything, even tried accepting exceptions for java in my firewall, still won’t work. Maybe adding an exception for my browser would fix it? I’m not sure.

When on the same PC you need to use localhost and not 0.0.0.0. Forge has a weird networking quirk, but that wouldn’t prevent your friend from joining if it’s setup correctly.
I don’t work with windows, so there’s not much advice I can offer in that regard.

So I figured out that is I go in the server properties and leave it blank, it works. But I don’t know how to make it blank in AMP, I’m only able to leave it blank after running it on my computer. Any idea how to make it so AMP doesn’t update the server-ip to be 0.0.0.0?

edit: …I figured it out. AMP had changed the server port somehow. Now to find out how to change the Port number back…

edit 2: I FIGURED IT OUT, I did not realize that whenever you make another server it automatically changes the port up a number.
