The Front server fails to start

Problem Description:

Steps to reproduce:

  • Step 1 — Created Instance

  • Step 2 — Set up all 3 pages of configuration
    Firewall rules are automatically set and verified as correct

  • Step 3 — attempt to launch server

Actions taken to resolve so far: verified firewall, validated server files, multiple attempts to update

Probably missing dependencies. Install 2015-2022 VS C++ Redist as well as the DirectX runtimes

It’s not a bad thought, but the machine already has 10 or so functional instances of other games. I reinstalled it anyway and same result.

Interesting though, I tried to fire up the server with the exe, and it’s bitching about running hacking tools. I wonder if this might have something to do with it.

Yeah, lol, windows defender reports it being a virus or the like. It’s a known issue reporting on the Front discord. Supposedly a false positive.

That error is from running ...server\ProjectWar\Binaries\Win64\TheFront.exe
