Team Fortress Classic config on AMP
Exe version 1.1.2.2 (tfc)
Exe build: 19:00:16 Oct 7 2024 (10210)
Problem Description:
The Team Fortress Classic AMP config appears to have been corrupted. It installs and follows the HL Source config, and has a variety of issues, incorrect terminology in the configuration, etc - all relating to Source.
It’s a GoldSrc game, and the config should mirror CS1.6 and HLDM. Both those configs are working correctly, and result in a bootable server.
Is there likely to be an old TFC config knocking about, or do I need to write my own and push it to GitHub? In the meantime, it is listed as a supported game, but the config is, as discussed above, broken.
It is indeed broken. The entire srcds module (which is the overarching module used in the past for Source and GoldSrc games) is gradually being replaced/deprecated. TFC is on the cards for deprecation. Certainly you can contribute a generic module template, which should ideally be consistent with the other GoldSrc templates in look and feel to be accepted into the main repo
This has been merged. When you go to create a new template there will be two available for now. You’ll know you’ve made the right one if the instance is called something like “TeamFortressClassic01” rather than “srcds” on the main instances screen.
