Please help me start the Dota2 server

Reproduction Steps

  • Hello, I have AMP installed on Windows and I can’t start the Dota2 server, please help me start it.
  • I downloaded and started it, it says: "No map launch specified. Select the map via Configuration → Initial Dedicated Server → Map Name.
  • Through the settings I click on Update Map List it says "Error updating map list: No such configuration node ‘srcdsModule.SRCDSSettings.Map’

Does anyone here answer questions and problems, developers, why are you silent, give me a guide on how to install DOTA2? The server gives me an error!!!

Try making a new instance using the Dota2 config based on the Generic module. It’s the one that shows as being a community contribution.

Please help me, how to do this, is there any guide about what you said, I really need to launch a Dota 2 server but I don’t know how to create one so that there are no problems, please, if there are any video tutorials or a guide, give me a link? I really like AMP but there are no instructions on creating servers, it would be better if you recorded video tutorials on creating game servers?

Don’t use that version of Dota 2 that you originally used - it doesn’t work, and hasn’t worked for 3 years

Use the first one in the list

And which one to use, please help, there is a guide on creating a DOTA2 server, please help me set up a Dota2 server, if you have already created a server, please give me an email and explain how to create one?

I have a list like this

Please, can you create it yourself once and give me instructions, I have been struggling for a week now, I want to launch this server, but I can’t.

  1. Select the first Dota 2 in the list
  2. Set the After Creation box to “Do Nothing”
  3. Create the instance
  4. Manage the instance
  5. Click Update
  6. Enter your Steam credentials when prompted
  7. Wait until the server has finished installing - it is very big (around 60GB)
  8. Check the console to confirm that the server was successfully installed by steamcmd
  9. Start the server

I did everything as you described above, but when I start the server it gives me this error

Does it start?

It’s not unusual for server to throw all sorts of errors that don’t mean much

That’s exactly what doesn’t start the write at the end

It gives an error

OK, that gives me a clue

First, though, do you have:

  • MS C++ Redistributable 2010 (32 bit and 64 bit)
  • MS C++ Redistributable 2015-2022 (32 bit and 64 bit)
  • DIrectX End User Runtime June 2010

Yes, there is, please help me install the server of the program that you say I have installed when installing AMP

You don’t have to keep pleading lol

Try this:

  1. Stop the instance - not just the server, but the whole Dota 2 instance
  2. Go into the File Manager from the main AMP webpage
  3. Go into the VDS directory for Dota 2
  4. Open GenericModule.kvp
  5. Go to line 81, or whatever line begins with App.UpdateSources
  6. Replace the whole line with:
    App.UpdateSources=[{"UpdateStageName":"SteamCMD Server Download","UpdateSourcePlatform":"All","UpdateSource":"SteamCMD","UpdateSourceData":"570","UpdateSourceArgs":"570"},{"UpdateStageName":"SteamCMD Component Download","UpdateSourcePlatform":"Windows","UpdateSource":"SteamCMD","UpdateSourceData":"1007","UpdateSourceTarget":"{{$FullBaseDir}}game/bin/win64","UpdateSourceArgs":"570"}]
  7. Save and close the file
  8. Start the instance
  9. Manage the instance
  10. Click Update to update the server again
  11. Start the server
