Problem Description

Issue

We’re trying to host a project zomboid server on the latest build. (They just added multiplayer) Unfortunately, after getting the server to update to the correct version, it does not start.

Reproduction Steps

  • Enable Beta Branches
  • Set beta to Unstable
  • Start Server

You might need a new save with b42

Tried it here, you definitely need a new save

I tried that, it didn’t work.

This task could not be completed: Starting Project Zomboid… - - State: 3.

This is the error it gives me.

By new save I mean new ini, db etc

The most reliable way to do that (and still keep your old stuff), is to put a new name (like servertest2) in the “Server Local Name” setting in AMP (under Configuration>Project Zomboid>Server)

Or if you just want to start over, delete the whole Zomboid dir, then update the server

I ended up just creating a new instance and updating the server before launching it for the first time. I appreciate all the help!
