Problem Description
Issue
the java version used won’t support the latest edition of minecraft and it doesn’t give me the option to update the server’s java version.
“Error: LinkageError occurred while loading main class net.minecraft.bundler.Main
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: net/minecraft/bundler/Main has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 65.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 61.0”.
is the error message i keep getting which is a pretty obvious fix but i don’t have direct access to the pc to update java directly. and it won’t take a newer version through the file manager.
Reproduction Steps
- minecraft won’t launch so i tried to force launch it
- tried to update java myself but server won’t take newer version of java needed
- yeah so this seems like a huge waste of time due to the simplicity of the issue being the java runtime version
wow it forces a community post as the support ticket. honestly disappointing. but yea if anyone knows how to update the java version on their hostinger i’d appreciate it.
