Startup Issue with Minecraft - Server won't start even though everything should be fine

Problem Description

Issue

I did everything with a tutorial from the hostinger youtube channel (How to Start a Minecraft Server in 2025) and it won’t start.

Reproduction Steps

  • i change “minecraft vanilla” to “minecraft forge”
  • i changed the version to 1.20.1 and forge 47.3.0
  • i added mods in the “mod” folder
  • i tried to start the server and it wouldnt work

You’ll need to read the console and/or log to know why it won’t work, as it works fine if you’ve configured things correctly.
Mainly make sure that you don’t have client-only mods on the server, since that’ll crash the server on startup.
