Startup Issue with Minecraft - Server is stuck on "Preparing to sleep"

Problem Description

Issue

I have no idea how to prevent this or get it out of “preparing to sleep” as it’s been stuck like this for about 30 minutes

Reproduction Steps

  • I couldn’t get into the server
  • I look at the metric and status
  • I see it is on “preparing to sleep” and no option to stop/wake up the server
  • Save and ran a back-up and that didn’t do anything

Most modded servers don’t support sleep, you can stop/start the instance from the main panel to get it unstuck, then disable sleep mode in the settings
