Startup Issue with Minecraft - server is crashing on wakeup

Problem Description

Issue

i have the server in sleep mode when noone is on it it exiting sleep mode when someone joins and all of a sudden it crashes when it tries to wake up. the console is no help as it isnt pointing to any of our installed mods being a problem. “failed to find port” and “server may already be in use” is the most common error

Reproduction Steps

  • server is asleep
  • somone tries to connect
  • server wakes up and attempts to start
  • server hard crashes

Happens if you have a scheduled restart while the server is sleeping. Just get rid of the scheduled restart, then stop/start the instance and you’ll be good to go.
