Problem Description

Issue

My server which I made a while ago requires Java 16 which is not an option. Is there a way to do it?

Reproduction Steps

  • Started the server
  • Went to the console
  • Console said I need Java 16

You’ll have to install Java 16, then stop/start the MC instance.
Or if you’re using Paper 1.16.5, disable it with their startup flag:
-DPaper.IgnoreJavaVersion=true

How do I install Java 16 onto the server? I’m on 1.17 btw

You can run 1.17 using Java 17 as well (Java 17 being the closest LTS version)
