Startup Issue with Minecraft - Error: Could not find or load main class

Problem Description

Issue

I have followed every tutorial I can find and deleted the instance about 3-4 times now to start a fresh. Every time I do, I get the following error:
Error: Could not find or load main class @libraries.net.minecraftforge.forge.1.20.1-47.2.17.unix_args.txt

Google doesn’t seem to know what it is so I was hoping you could help? I’ve been trying all day…

Reproduction Steps

  • Download and extract the server pack for “Better Minecraft” from Curseforge
  • transfer all needed files via SFTP
  • Attempt to start the server

You need to select the appropriate Java version from within AMPs settings.

Yep, that was it! Thank you! I figured it out a few hours after posting but couldn’t find out how to remove my post (Sorry!)

For anyone having the same trouble as me, there’s two stages to setting up modded Minecraft:

  1. Go to Configuration > Sever Settings > Server Type.
    Select the relevant server type for your selected mod.
    From there, in the same section (Config > Server Setting) - Select the correct version (Such as Forge version 47.2.32 (mc 1.20.1)

1.1: Once selected > Click “Download / Update”.

  1. Go to “Configuration > Java and Memory” and select the correct Java version from the available dropdown menu (To find your correct Java Version, google the mc version (In this case mc 1.20.1) to find the relevant Java version.

I’ve been stuck on this a couple of days so I hope this post may help someone!
