Problem Description

Issue

All setting seem to be correct as far as I’m aware, i’ve been playing with this for a few hours to many frustrations. I can’t seem to use your platform to get either a fabric or forge server set up when I’ve found this an extremely easy task with other server hosts. Can I get some more insight into whether this is a fault of my own or if it’s due to the lack of intuitiveness of this apps UI and experience. I’ve also extensively looked online and from what I can see, this current issue I have with the Forge server is that the Java version being used by the server is incompatible. Can I also get some further understanding of this please? If it is the case, then I would never have purchased this service, knowing it wouldn’t provide me with what I needed and I could have saved myself hours of frustrations over nothing.

I’ve pasted the error code below for you to see.

Exception in thread “main” java.lang.IllegalAccessError: class cpw.mods.modlauncher.SecureJarHandler (in unnamed module @0x5b8bc155) cannot access class sun.security.util.ManifestEntryVerifier (in module java.base) because module java.base does not export sun.security.util to unnamed module @0x5b8bc155

Any insight at all into this would be greatly appreciated. And if you can inform me of whether the Java version problem (If this is the error causing my problems) can be rectified.

Thanks in advance

Reproduction Steps

  • Started new server following Hostinger guide
  • Followed instructions to add mods and change server version to forge
  • Server wouldn’t start, changed version loader type and still wont start but provides only one error now

You need to use the right Java runtime version for the version of MC you’re running.
