Problem Description

Issue

Trying to start a brand new Factorio server for the first time. Getting error that server is unable to run. Not sure what could be causing the issue.

Reproduction Steps

  • Tried to start the brand new server
  • Tried again to start the brand new server
  • The server is brand new, it should not fail to start immediately after being installed.

Try running ampinstmgr getruntimes - you might just be missing a C++ runtime if it’s a brand new system.

I should have been more specific, apologies, the system is not brand new. It’s running other servers perfectly fine. The issue is with the new-to-my-system instance of Factorio that I’m trying to start. After a fresh install it fails to run on initial startup.

Does the console say anything?

Thank you for prompting me to look in the console. It was failing because it was trying to setup public display but I had disabled verification. I don’t want it public so I turned that off too and now it works just fine. I-D-10-T error on my part. Thanks very much for your support. You guys are top notch!
