Problem Description

Issue

try to start instance and shows a message that says “failed to login to remote instance” and in deployment log shows this: SFTP authentication denied for cernewtech@188.190.10.143 : Failure
188.190.10.144 has been banned from SFTP, ignoring connection attempt…

Reproduction Steps

  • try to start instance
  • shows failed to login message
  • went to deployment log and shows the message shown below
  • nothing additional has been done. Yesterday the instance was working normally

There’s a botnet brute forcing SSH and SFTP at the moment.
Block 188.190.10.0/24 in your firewall to stop the bots from attempting connections.

In the Linux command line. If you’re with Hostinger, ask their support, otherwise google should be able to get you sorted
