Minecraft Instance wont start due to Windows Update. Instance belongs now to another user

Problem Description

Issue

“ Unable to start instance

"This instance cannot be started by the current application. The application is running as DESKTOP-****** but the instance belongs to WIN-******”

Reproduction Steps

  • update windows
  • start amp management panel
  • start instance
  • error message "“ Unable to start instance This instance cannot be started by the current application. The application is running as DESKTOP-**** but the instance belongs to WIN-******”

Previous solution from Mike:

Stop AMP, edit the Instances.json in the AMP datastore and replace the WIN-XXXXX reference with the system name followed by a $
