StarRupture Server not being able to be found

OS Name/Version: Debian GNU/Linux 13

Product Name/Version: AMP/2.6.4.2

Problem Description: the server cant seem to be found when looking for the game,

managing the server seems to work fine, but after clicking load game, or by trying to leave the screen and ging to join game the following lines show up in the console:

[2026.01.07-16.21.07:987][374]LogCrOnlineSessionSubsystem: Display: UCrSessionSubsystem::OnUpdateSessionComplete GameSession bWasSuccessful: 1
[2026.01.07-16.21.07:987][374]LogCommonSession: OnUpdateSessionComplete(SessionName: GameSession, bWasSuccessful: true

[2026.01.07-16.21.08:184][380]LogCommonSession: OnUpdateSessionComplete(SessionName: GameSession, bWasSuccessful: true

[2026.01.07-16.31.17:951][865]LogRemoteControl: Error: Web Remote Call deserialization error: Object: /Game/Chimera/Maps/DedicatedServerStart.DedicatedServerStart:PersistentLevel.BP_DedicatedServerSettingsActor_C_1.DedicatedServerSettingsComp does not exist.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Step 1open the game and go to manage server
  • Step 2 fill in the correct IP and set the password to said server in the game so you can set a server password, the server also needs to be set up with a session save this way
  • Step 3wait for nothing to happen to go out of the screen after setting up your game save and password or leave after doing just that and try to join the game via the join game join game option for dedicated servers.

Actions taken to resolve so far:
tried compatibility mode admin mode,.
tried port forwarding with both the firewall and the router.
tried using another port. tried using a vpn.
tried restarting the server only to have the steps repeat themselves again because that just seems to also reset game save.
tried opening the game in admin mode without compatibility mode. tried editing the server bat file with the line : -MULTIHOME=(I’m not going to post my IPaddress but you get the idea).
I tried these options so far, but I’m not certain if I missed something, but will let you know and edit this post if possible if I remember or am reminded of things I tried.

this is my first time trying to ask for help here, so if I forgot something or gotten anything wrong, please let me know so i do not make the same mistake next time I come across some problems.

I am having the same issue, I am using the internal IP (192.168.1.21:7788) in the “Manage Server” option. Seems to connect fine but get the same “… DedicatedServerSettingsComp does not exist” message when clicking “Start Game”.

After managing the server in-game, you then need to use your public IP to connect to it. Which requires your router to support NAT hairpin/loopback

is there a way to know if my router supports that? or is this just needing to wait for the dev’s to fix the issue I’m having and I just need to remain patient for the time being?

Check your router’s settings and manual

I think I also found another issue that might indicate why it is not finding the server. I had to do some digging, and maybe? it seems to spit these errors out it yellow, I am not at all familiar with Linux but I did find these errors amongst some other lines today:

then a whole bunch of white text which i really did not bother to add to one whole thing as the first one already a had a lot of that in it. and it should mean it works as indented until one more:

I did do some reading on some websites also saying the not being able to find the server could also be not having all the certificates, but i don’t know if that is really the issue or not. and considering you already said it required NET hairpin support. which I did not find on my router, reverse proxy it does, not sure if that’s the same as loopback. as I said I’m pretty new to the whole Server hosting thing.

just thought id put it out there in case someone else has a similar issue but has the hairpin/loopback support. or if it turns out I did have the support because i just am not familiar with the terminology.

and before anyone asks or wonders why i am posting this now, I did update the server files today which is why I went and checked again since the devs of the game did in fact update their own game today. even saying they did fix some issues with dedicated servers. so i wanted to see, and its still a nope with the joining.
