Fix Space Engineers server connection and performance issues
Problem Description
Issue
I am running a Space Engineers dedicated server using AMP on Hostinger. The server is completely fresh, with no mods installed.
The server starts correctly and shows “Server simulation speed: 1.02”, but all players experience periodic drops in client simulation speed (around 0.48).
These drops are not constant — they happen approximately every minute, then the simulation speed returns to normal (1.0), and then drops again repeatedly.
At the same time, the game shows frequent “connection problems” warnings.
This issue affects multiple players, not just me, even though we have good hardware (RTX 4050, Ryzen 5 7535HS) and stable internet connections.
Additionally, in the AMP panel, the SteamPort shows as “Not Listening”, while the main ServerPort is working.
We already tried:
- Changing SteamPort to 27017
- Restarting the server
- Testing without mods
- Connecting via direct IP
The issue persists.
Is this related to networking issues, server configuration, or AMP/Torch behavior?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Reproduction Steps
- Created a new Space Engineers dedicated server using AMP (Hostinger)
- Started the server with default settings (no mods, fresh world)
- Connected to the server and noticed that every minute the client simulation speed drops (~0.48) and then returns to normal
