trying to connect to an existing game instance

Problem Description

Issue

AMP was running and 1 instance of Satisfactory last night with no issues. Friend was able to log in, create his game and even played for a few hours. Today, after I attempted the update, which just kind of sat there for hours and hours, now says 2.4.8, but now we cannot connect to the server. its not the firewall or router, as it was working just fine last night. i can reach it locally, as expected, but he cannot from outside the network. I even connected to a different network on my PC and was unsuccessful. Can i uninstall, reinstall with new download, will my instances still be there?
