Port forwarding?

Problem Description: I have set up a AMP server using Ubuntu and is able to connect using play.gg, but I want to go the next step in port forwarding. I can’t find any information on how to port forward.

Note I have two machines, my main desktop for games and another machine with ubuntu.

I’m using a ASUS AC66U with external ports 25565:2556, internal IP(ubuntu machine) 192.168.XX.XX with protocol Both(UDP/TCP). On AMP panel Primary Endpoint 192.168.XX.XX:25566 and Game Port 25566 Both. But my friends are still unable to connect. Am I doing something wrong?

Double-check that port forward for typos, as you write 2556 there.
When getting your friends to connect give them your public IP (google “what is my IP” to get it).
