Palworld server connection times out for 2nd+ device(s) on the same network as the server

OS Name/Version: Windows 11 Pro / 25H2

Product Name/Version: AMP Release “Proteus” v2.8.0.4, built 24/07/2026 17:12

Problem Description: We are having a strange issue where two consoles on the same internet as our un-modded dedicated server cannot connect to said server at the same time. (Palworld)

We are hosting the Dedicated un-modded server via a Windows PC running on the same home network as both consoles, other server members outside of our network (both from other countries and the same country) can connect just fine with 0 issue, and our first PS5 can connect fine but when the second attempts to connect it fails with the error message: “Connection timed out, either the destination server is down, or its IP Address has changed.” either PS5 can connect perfectly on their own, but the moment the second tries to connect it is unable.

We also host an ARK: SA server off the same machine and connect to it in the same method, both joining via the public server browser, and this server works as expected, allowing all 3 current household players (PS5) to connect to the server without issue.

The pc and the routers port forwarding/firewalls are set up correctly to my knowledge with the pc/server being on a static internal IP.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Step 1: on first PS5, connect to the server via public server browser.
  • Step 2: first connection is stable, attempt connection via public server browser with second Console.
  • Step 3: Connection will always time out on the second + console from the same network.

Actions taken to resolve so far: restarting server, checking firewall and port forwarding is correctly set for the server, checking firewall on router is correctly set for the server, checking setting in AMP that may impact the server.

It’s using the external IP to connect all the systems, so your router is getting confused about which signals are for which system when they’re all crossing the router multiple times. To get around that make sure you’re using the internal Network IP for the server to connect to it instead of just going through the community server link.

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately the console versions of palword to my knoladge do not allow joining a server through direct IP connections, the only options are the server browser and non-dedicated invite codes. Only PC versions of the game can connect directly via internal IP, leading to our issue.

You could try enabling UPNP in the router and see if it can adapt, but not sure it will work.
