New motherboard - AMP access and server loss

OS Name/Version: Ubuntu Server 24.04.2

Product Name/Version: AMP 2.6.1.2 - 20250325.1

Problem Description: Due to change Motherboard.

Hi.

I need to change out my motherboard (going onto a mini ITX), but keeping all other hardware. From my limited understanding, this will change my IP address? As the IP address is changing, and I access my AMP UI via this (forgive me, I don’t know the technical term: I access it through a separate system via web browser); will I loose access to my account and the servers I have running on it?

The server is backed up, but my limited knowledge of all things networking/servers is causing me concerns - I’d prefer to not have to re-install everything again and buy a further licence. Is there a way to migrate the account to the new IP address and restore the server from the back up? I guess I will have to set up all the port forwarding stuff that I did when initially setting it up, but I can figure that out again - I just don’t want to loose the server and settings!

Steps to reproduce:

  • Change motherboard

Actions taken to resolve so far:

  • Sit and panic about it!

If anyone can provide me with an idiots guide to this problem, I’d be most grateful! Please let me know what other info you need.

With the hardware change all you’ll really need to do is get the AMP UI up and reactivate your instances.
The old activations drop off over time and there isn’t anything to worry about.
You’d access the web UI from the new private IP, or go in your router and tell it to assign the old IP to the new motherboard’s MAC address.
