Problem Description:
The Minecraft server will not wake when a user tries to connect
Steps to reproduce:
- Set Minecraft (Paper MC 1.21.9) to Sleep Mode Enable
- Set Wake from Sleep to either “When a user joins the server” or “When the server is pinged”
- Try to connect after the server sleeps
Actions taken to resolve so far:
I’ve searched in these forums and I see that other people have reported similar problems but have either less “pure” connections such as connecting via playit.gg or the threads were closed a while back after 30 days inactivity. I’ve tried what I’ve found (albeit not much).
The other wrinkle is that a week ago this exact hardware was running AMP on Windows 11. In that configuration the wake worked perfectly. However, after MULTIPLE failures of Windows to apply Win 11 25H2 I gave up and reformatted the machine to Debian. I realize that I could use that to doubt the hardware except that same issue has happened on multiple PCs for me so I’m more likely to blame Microsoft.
