Got it to run now, but there really should be an official guide for restoring backups, as its not really straightforward.
For anyone else in my Situation:
- copy zipped backup file into …/ampdata/.ampdata/instances//Backups
- restart the amp backend
- now the backup is visible in the amp ui and you can use restore backup from there
writing it like that it does not sound complicated, but when you have no baseline and try different things without success for awhile, it becomes frustrating, pls add an official guide for this process somewhere
Task
trying to restore backups from a previous amp hosted minecraft server in a new amp installation because the ssd containing the previous server and setup died
Problem Description
Issue
So as said above, i had a local minecraft server running through amp. Then the internal ssd, containing all the data, died. Now i did setup AMP again and was trying to restore my backups from the previous server, but nowhere is an explanation for that process to be found, the internet couldnt really help and im running out of ideas to do, what should be a simple process.
Things i tried
- moving backup.zip in backups folder from new mc-instance
- adding content of related __AMPBackupManifest.ampjson as new line to Backups.json
- deleting world folder and copying contents of unzipped backup into it
