Task

Trying to transfer player data from an old world to a new one.

Problem Description

Issue

I transferred a world that I was using on Minehut servers, but I setup a home server system. Everything on the world transferred perfectly, but when I join, I not only have none of my inventory, but I don’t have my current skin and I look in the player data folder and it recognizes me with a new UUID (my old actual UUID is there, as well as a new one). I confirmed that it is only happening on my server because I can join other servers and it recognizes my actual UUID.

Reproduction Steps

  • Follow the steps of transferring world data by creating a zip folder of the world, and extracting it into the file manager folder.
  • make sure everything is setup correctly for you to join.
  • Join the server, but it won’t load actual player data

Minehut’s system is just utter garbage yeah.
Your real UUID is the one you have now, the one with Minehut would’ve been some weird offline UUID. You’ll want to take a copy and rename the playerdata dat file to match your real UUID (edit the files with the server stopped or while you aren’t logged in)

The Minehut world data was correct. My UUID in the minehut world zip is correct. When I join the AMP server it creates a new UUID for me and I see that reflected in the player data. How do I make it so the player data is correct?

Weird, that usually only happens if you’re trying to run an offline server, did you accidentally disable authentication at some point while setting up the instance?
