Im trying to download a 900mb file

Problem Description

Issue

This is a 900mb download, I wait a few hours check up on it then it starts slowing down. I confused by this try closing tabs and it still slows down. at first it downloads at 12kb then to 6kb then 1kb etc. I try to find solutions but get nowhere. I just want a clue on how to speed it up or do I just wait.

Reproduction Steps

  • I drag my file to the file manager
  • It starts downloading then slows down after a while and wont speed back up
  • I put the computer to sleep when im not at the computer

Try downloading the file using the built-in SFTP, it’s much faster for larger files.

where do I find/access that?

You’d use FileZilla or WinSCP, the connection details are in the upper right of the web file manager.
