takeing backups

Problem Description

Issue

i have tryed to take multiple backups now and none are working manual or scheduled it was working up untill the 07/03/24 at witch point it hasnt taken a backup since

Reproduction Steps

  • manage instance
  • navigate to the backups menu
  • perform a server backup
  • server starts collecting the files to take the backup then dose nothing

I’d suggest checking your backup limits under Performance and Limits to see if there’s anything blocking you there.
The most common ones are the file size getting to big for the default limit or accidentally creating automated sticky backups that don’t delete themselves.

As far as i can see and as you should beable to see below that all looks ok to me and there is only 1 back up currently created that is a sticky one

Firstly, set the logging level to debug (search logging in the upper right), then take a backup, wait for it to fail, then go to the main panel and right click the instance, then hit View Logs to see if there’s anything funky showing up in the logs.
If not then I’d say double check that the world folder doesn’t exceed the individual backup limit (should be able to use SFTP to check that out)

well idk what happened but i set the logs to debug as you said took a back up couldnt see anything in the logs so thought ied try it one more time took the back up and it worked magically.
thx for ur help

soooooooooooooooooooooooooo im an idiot i was out of the insttance when i tryed to take a back up so thats y it worked. gonna look at the other thing now.

ok so it was the back uplimit the world size was 9.5GB but with all the mods and stoof i geuss that took it over the 10GB as at a level 5 commpretion the back up is still 11.5GB.
