Optimize server to reduce “move too quickly/wrongly”

Problem Description

Issue

Server does not seem to ever be at max CPU or RAM usage so I am wondering what I can do to improve the performance response of my server since I am not using all the resources allocated. It would be one thing if the hardware is lagging but that does not seem to be the case. This mostly seems to be issues with movement and will cause the player to sling shot backwards.

Reproduction Steps

  • Get on a horse
  • Start moving on the horse
  • Start running on the horse
  • Look at server console and see output

Just a general note, we are not Hostinger, this is the forum for AMP.
Minecraft is mostly single-threaded, so there’s not much you can do to get it to use all the CPU you have available.
That said, this issue can be cause by either the server being overloaded, or from a poor connection.
Either way, if you’re using Vanilla, I’d suggest switching over to the Paper server type, as it’s more performant.
