Problem Description
Issue
I am trying to have my friend connect to my 1.21 minecraft server, but she keeps getting the same error, “Unknown Host.” None of my other friends have had this error. We made sure that the server address was typed in correctly, that the installation was the correct version, that her internet is connected, that her windows firewall allows java and minecraft, and that her antivirus allows java and minecraft. She even flushed her DNS Cache. After all of this, many hours of troubleshooting, nothing is working. She was able to connect to Hypixel, a different server, but my server kept giving “Unknown Host” error. Is there anything I can do on my end to remedy this? Is there something I have missed on her end? Please help.
Reproduction Steps
- Open Minecraft Launcher
- Select correct installation (1.21)
- Click play
- Select multiplayer, then add server
- Type in server address correctly
- Attempt to connect to server
