Problem Description
Issue
EDIT: Using a local server
I’m reaching burn out trying to figure out what’s causing this, I added a lot of mods, but haven’t had issues like this in the past. I cannot for the life of me get into and play in the worlds I upload, and would greatly appreciate some kind of insight and help to figure out what’s causing the issue so I can move on.
Reproduction Steps
- Uploaded modded world, BP and RP to server
- Updated selected world to uploaded modded world
- Unable to play in server, stuck at “locating server” and LAN world option won’t appear
Is it a local server or VPS? If your on a LAN, I assume a local machine.
Start simple…set up a non-modded server and see if you can connect. If not, then you know you have a router/firewall/permissions problem. Verify firewall is down on needed ports and retry local connection.
If you can connect on vanilla, then start loading mods one at a time to verify connection. Do it without loaded a premodded world. If you mods all work, then that narrows it to something in your modded world file not being installed correctly or corrupted.
It works with a vanilla world, but the LAN world won’t show up with the right port number and the option toggled on. How would I be able to fast track adding/checking each mod one by one? At the moment the only way I’ve done it is by creating the world on my phone, copying it to a location outside of the app data location, and STFPing the needed folders to my AMP instance. It takes a couple hours to get one world fully set up, so would like to know if there was a way to speed up the process (the main reason to why I’m feeling burnt out).
I’m not familar with Modded Minecraft server issues, so will let someone else step in to see if they can assist. I would recommend searching the forums though as there have been a lot of modded Minecraft issues resolved.
One in particular you might look at is Restore backup on new server - #15 by Daniel_Ertl It doesn’t deal with Minecraft but there were some other files people had to restore to get good backups running.
