Problem Description:
Currently, I can only select FTB evolution version 1.3.0 which is 2 versions behind from the latest 1.4.2 . Also even if i host 1.3.0 I can;t connect to the server because FTB Evolution runs using the neoforge mod loader and i don;t know what mod loader amp uses but there is no option or way i know of using the neoforger mod loader to host it
Steps to reproduce:
create instance Minecraft
manage the instance
click configuration
click Minecraft
click server and startup
in Server type click Feed the Beast (new sources)
in FTB mod pack choose FTB evolution V1.3.0
Press download/update
wait for everything to install
go to Java and memory
increase memory limit to 8192
go to status
and the start the server
on the client pc download version 1.3.0 of FTB evolution
launch the game and connect to the server
get given the error
you are trying to connect to a server that is not running neoforge, but you have mods that require it. a connection could not be established
Actions taken to resolve so far:
After download FTB evolution I switch the server type to Neoforge and try to start the server that way
other than that nothing I have no idea how to import and set up a custom neoforge modded server in to amp. I have tried it a failed way to many times now
AMP uses whatever modloader FTB uses for their packs. If a recent update has changed it to use NeoForge, and that version isn’t showing in AMP, you can try and stop/start the Minecraft instance to see if that refreshes the version cache.
Worst case you can grab the pack off of the FTB website and upload it manually.
nah the version is stuck on v1.3.0 and i am pretty sure amp does not take the modpack directly from feed the beast but instead takes it from curseforge. also even version 1.3.0 used neoforge not forge for the modloader. There same issue is happening with pterodactyl. that they don;t have version 1.4.2. also even if I upload it manually i still have the problem that amp is not loading the modpack with neoforge
AMP doesn’t have any CurseForge integrations atm, it pulls from FTB’s site.
You could try these steps to clear the cache manually to see if that’s the issue: https://discourse.cubecoders.com/t/direwolf20-1-21-update-issue/20602/4
AMP runs NeoForge fine, so you’ll want to double check that you’ve configured things right and have the Jar set to Autoselect.
And make sure that you’re not uploading a zip to the mods directory, as modloaders only load jar files.
this issue will start to likely effect other ftb packs so I urge the developers to get their sources directly from FTB because this will start to effect their income from server hosting companies.
I can assure you, I’ve talked to the AMP devs in the past, they didn’t have access to the CurseForge API at the time that the FTB new source server type was added. It’s source from the FTB site, not a clue as to why it’s not pulling the right version info at random.
Feel free to join the discord, or make a Github issue and ask them if you want to confirm that info.
And for the issue where AMP isn’t loading the pack with NeoForge, that’s not a bug, it’s just that AMP doesn’t query the version info from the FTB API, and you need to configure the modloader and version yourself after it’s downloaded.
