OS Name/Version: Ubuntu 24.04.2
Product Name/Version: AMP Instance Manager v2.6.1.6
Problem Description:
I want to add a custom server name that appears when a friend adds my server. Is there any way to do this because when I go to public servers i see servers that have custom names.
Steps to reproduce:
-Add name to friendly name in minecraft instance
- added server - name to server properties
- Step 3 added server name to amp.config
Configuration > Minecraft > Server and Startup > MOTD
Yeah i get that one but I was wondering if there is a way to change the actual server name. Like the one that appears above the MOTD. For example, when i add a server i see “Minecraft Server” above the MOTD.
That’s up to each client - it’s not a server-side thing
Oh okay i see. Was wondering because when i was looking at the public servers in the multiplayer tab I saw servers that had their own name.
Are you referring to Java or Bedrock servers?
Java servers because when i play prominence 2 I see that in the public server section I see that people have both MOTD and a custom server name.
Yeah you have no control over what the user enters for that field in their server list
(Greelan said the same above there)
