Higher MemoryUsage than Restrikted to the Instance

Problem Description:
Actually im Sorry for my Bad English but i Try it.

I have a Problem with the Memory Usage of one of my Instances using Minecraft Plugin for AMP.

I Have Restricted the Container Memory Plicy to an Max of 8GB RAM and it is using 12,3GB.
But i Dont know how this is Possible when the Memory is Restricted. Is this an Display Bug or what?

In the Instance there are Running an Minecraft 1.7.10 Modpack (Minecraft SKY)
All Cofigurations are on Default i havent Changed Anything.

Please help me.

If you’re not using Docker there’s no such thing as a memory restriction. The setting in AMP controls the maximum heap size for Java, but the Java process has overheads beyond that. This is normal and expected behaviour.

The total amount of memory the process has allocated and the amount of physical RAM it occupies are different things, AMP reports the former because it’s what’s important. If you turn on ‘Simplified metrics’ then it reports the latter.
